Bishamonten (毘沙門天) is a deity that originated from another world.
Appearance[]
No information is given on his appearance.
Personality[]
Though a deity, and given the charge of fulfilling the wishes of mortals, it seems that Bishamonten was rather indifferent to the task and unwilling to accept his role.
Background[]
According to the account of his creation, Shiramochi-ō, Bishamonten was originally a human that eventually became worshiped as a god alongside with a group that would be known as the Seven Lucky Gods. Unfortunately, these beings had no real interest in fulfilling the roles forced upon them. So in order to fulfill the wishes of every new year, the gods used the Sea of Possibilities to create a being that would act as their solution to the predicament in fulfilling the wishes of the mortals.

Relationships[]
Cocytus[]
Cocytus was an unknowing pawn in the New Year event caused by the Seven Lucky God. The Floor Guardian under the influence of the "New Year's mood" that spread throughout Nazarick was selected to be the gatekeeper for Bishamonten's temple. The reason Cocytus was chosen was due to him being a samurai and that one of his attacks referenced Acalanātha or Fudō Myō-ō who was a companion to the god Bishamonten in literature.
Shiramochi-ō[]
Shiramochi-ō was the creation of Bishamonten to fulfill his wishes for every coming new year. However, the Ruler of New Year harbors nothing but a grudge against the god as he and his comrades turned Shiramochi-ō life into both a blessing and a curse.
Trivia[]
- Of all the Seven Lucky Gods, Bishamonten was the only god named in the event.
