Behemot was a Primal Earth Elemental that belonged to the Elf King, Decem Hougan.
Appearance[]
Behemot was a mishappened body of boulders and mineral ore, making it as large as the trees in the Great Forest of Evasha. It had thick and long arms with stout but short legs.
Personality[]
So far no personality has been shown, only that the elemental complies obediently to his summoner. Behmot though appears to have an attitude like a cat playing with its prey when attacking, as even though it has the ability to move fast it movements are slow and deliberate.
Background[]
The summon was given its name, coincidentally the same as a raid boss Behemot in YGGDRASIL, by another. In its long history existence, Behemot was regarded as the greatest elemental, a symbol of the Elf Country and its national treasure. If ever stolen or destroyed, it would be synonymous of stealing or destroying the nation.
Chronology[]
The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]
- Main article: The Half Elf God-kin I and The Half Elf God-kin II Arc
Decem Hougan summoned the elemental to destroy the team of Holocaust Scripture members after they had killed his daughter. The act was not out of revenge, but merely to pass the time to amuse himself. The Vice Captain of the Scripture, Schoen, refusing to let his people die, sacrificed himself to allow others to escape. Behemot killed the human by beating him to a pulp. Later after the tussle, he carried the Elf King back to the elven royal capital near Crescent Lake.[1]
During the assault on the elven capital by the Slane Theocracy army, the elemental was in standby mode within the Elven Royal Castle as a carpet of dirt near the treasury. When Ainz Ooal Gown, Mare Bello Fiore, and Aura Bella Fiora were in its presence, they were detected by Decem who teleported to the area to see the intruders. After seeing that Aura and Mare possessed heterochromia, he believed that they were his descendants and declared his intentions to take them and have them breed with him. This caused a fight between him and Ainz, who posed as a summon of the twins. Decem believing in the ruse, then reconstituted Behemot to attack the undead. At the beginning of the battle, Ainz acted on the defensive in order to fool the Elf King into consuming his mana. After awhile, once Ainz finished fishing for information, went on the offensive. Ainz attacked Behemot using the elemental's weakness, by casting [Cacophosus Burst] until it was reduced to a pile of dirt to the shock of its summoner. With the loss of his elemental, Decem lost his confidence and ability to teleport, causing him to flee for his life from his 'grandchildren'.[2]
Abilities and Powers[]
Behemot was a superior grade of Earth Elemental and boasted arms and legs that displayed power no monster should be capable of. A single punch of its fist can shatter a wall of stone. And it is indefatigable, allowing it to be used as a mount. Otherwise, it seemed to be a typical example of it's type, though Ainz stated that Decem's build made it more powerful then usual.
It had the ability to hide in the soil, and can be called when needed from the earth. Decem using his connection with the elemental could teleport to its location even when it was in standby mode as a carpet of dirt.
Not once being deployed has it ever been defeated, with even Ancient Dragons who strengthened themselves with 2nd tier magic being one-sidedly beaten to death, and Decem commenting that even he would die if Behemoth turned on him, and while it could be damaged, it still remained an undefeated existence due to its enormous health. However, it still had weaknesses like other earth elementals, such acid and shockwaves.
Before being destroyed by Ainz Ooal Gown, the only other person who could have done so was Decem’s deceased father.
Passive[]
- Weapon Resistance V: A skill that makes it resist all weapons and give it physical damage reduction.
Relationships[]
Decem Hougan[]
Behemot is the Elf King's summoned and only called upon when the latter does not want to exert himself in physical effort.
King Hougan[]
Decem’s father and one of the Eight Greed Kings. King Hougan himself is the one who named the Earth Elemental, having named it after one of the raid bosses he likely encountered while playing YGGDRASIL.
Ainz Ooal Gown[]
Upon encountering the elemental, Ainz was confused by the name, as it was same as a raid boss he knew of. Looking at it, he didn't think much of it, as he fought and defeated an earth elemental before in the past, though admitted that Behemot was bigger. While he was impressed by its size, and reflected its power, he noted that size was not everything.
Trivia[]
- According to Schoen, the elemental would have looked comical if it had been smaller.
- According to Ainz, it would not be normally possible to summon a Primal Earth Elemental through normal means. Decem, however can do so due to his specific Build and Job Classes.
- Based on Ainz's appraisal of the elemental, he believed that Herohero could easily defeat it.
- Decem had filled his treasury room with dirt and soil in the ever possible scenario someone dares to try and take his treasures.
