Avarice and Generosity (強欲と無欲) is a World Item under the possession of the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown.

Description

One of the World Items collected by Ainz Ooal Gown, during it's golden years. It was kept in the Treasury until the Bloody Valkyrie Incident, which prompted Ainz Ooal Gown to arm the Floor Guardians with World Items so as to protect them from the effects of World Item users.[1]

Appearance

The left gauntlet is an evil-looking thing that resembles the hand of a demon. It seemed to be made out of some sort of black metal, which was covered in twisted thorns. Its fingertips were sharpened into points, and the dirty radiance surrounding it resembled some sort of strange secretion. Just a single look filled all who saw it with a terror stemming from the depths of their souls.

In contrast, the right gauntlet looked like the pure, immaculate hand of a maiden. It is white in color and its slender proportions were covered in elaborate gold embroidery, which further emphasized its exquisite beauty. It drew the eye like bees to honey, and just like seeing a world-class beauty, the onlookers felt like they might lose their souls to it.

Abilities

Avarice and Generosity has the ability of absorbing experience points. In that regard, it is capable of storing them for later use whenever the wielder is ready to consume the experience points.[2]

In the Web Novel, when this World Item is activated, a small blue light for each soul is killed and stored in the black gauntlet Avarice. White gauntlet Generosity, however, allows one to use that stored experience points for experience-costing abilities and spells through siphoning them from Avarice.

Nonetheless, the blue lights are just a cosmetic effect for acquiring the EXP. Since Ainz was at level 100 and his surplus EXP bar was filled, any more EXP would just disappear when he got it.
