A view of Another World

Another World (あなぎーあーるど) is considered the tentative name of realm that is an unknown world, where the cast of Isekai Quartet find themselves stranded in. It serves as the main setting for Isekai Quartet The Movie -Another World-.

Background[]

The earliest inhabitants of Another World, was a YGGDRASIL player named Kikotenshin Nekonyan and a scientist known as the Head Researcher. Kikotenshin appeared in the location shortly when he was about to fight the Primordial Dragon Lord with his Siege Golem. In an empty desert, Kikotenshin believed he was all alone, until he came across the Head Researcher wandering in the desert. The Head Researcher like the player was also from another land and the two quickly befriended each other.

The Head Researcher fascinated by Kikotenshin's golem researched it, managing to reverse engineer it and create copies of multiple Siege Golems as well as smaller variants. The Head Researcher was given one of Kikotenshin's Cat Crystal Core to allow him authority over the golems. However when the Head Researcher created a newer more monstruous golem variant, it proved far too unruly and impossible to control even with their magic items.

The golem threatened to destroy the world they inhabited, thus the Head Researcher and Kikotenshin both created a special golem named Pantagruel. Pantagruel could assume control over the golem through direct contact of its eye thanks to one of the implanted Cat Crystal Cores inside her.

Kikotenshin, Pantagruel and the original Siege Golem then did battle with the rampant golem, finally managing to subdue and deactivate it. The golem though was sealed away in an underground facility, built by the labors of the golems under the control of Kikotenshin and Panragruel.

At some point, the Head Researcher found a way to open a gateway back to his world using the core of the rampant golem. He bade farewell to Pantagruel and Kikotenshin, who decided to stay in Another World with his golem creation so she would not be alone.

Eventually as the year went by, Kikotenshin passed away, leaving Pantagruel alone for three hundred years. Her loneliness subsided with the arrivals of two new arrivals Alec Hoshin and Vera Mitrohina.

Isekai Quartet The Movie -Another World- Arc[]

Main article: Isekai Quartet The Movie -Another World- Arc

Another World received a new batch of visitors, in the form of the the members of Class 2. Whilst being pulled through a black hole, Ainz Ooal Gown and Chomsuke are the first to be pulled into Another World. They are followed by the rest of Class 2, however the class becomes targeted by a Siege Golem. The class are chased through the ruins of a city to a bridge over a river. Satou Kazuma attempted to use his [Steal] ability to take control over the golem, but the skill was blocked by Megumin who was eager to display her explosion magic. The explosion magic was useless against the golem, and caused the bridge to collapse beneath the students.

Meanwhile Ainz and Chomsuke found themselves lost in a strange underground facility. Inside Ainz was surprised to see golems from YGGDRASIL. In addition he found an ominous altar which he began to study. The rest of Class 1 with the exception of Kazuma were spread out into three groups throughout the lands. A group led by Naofumi Iwantani soon found themselves under attack by small golem constructs, forcing them to take to the skies and flee to a distant mesa, where they met Alec in the village.

A second group led by Natsuki Subaru found themselves under attack by several golems, however they came into contact with Pantagruel who them demonstrated her ability to calm the golems. Pantagruel then led the group to the village where to their surprised was being cared for by a group of golems much like the ones that previously attacked them. To their delight the two groups of Class 2 reunited with much fanfare before being invited for a meal by Alec and Pantagruel.

Kazuma lost in a jungle soon stumbled over a strange statue, but was his attention was diverted to a uniformed girl riding a hover-bike made of golems and entering a hidden base. By coincidence said base was where Ainz and Chomusuke found themselves. The girl finding the intruders attempted to seize Ainz using her golems, however Ainz easily subdued them. Before they could talk, Kazuma butted into the conversation, creating an awkward situation, which quickly deflated the hostility. Upon learning that they were also visitors to this world, the girl who was named Vera Mitrohina proposed that they join forces as there was a way to return to their world using a magic item in the facility, Vera wanted to return to her own world, as she was desperate to save her homeland from being defeated in a war. Ainz and Kazuma seeing her uniform assumed her to be a countrywoman from Tanya von Degurechaff's homeland readily agreed to help.

The last group from Class 2, were led by Tanya, Albedo and Emilia found themselves under attack by the berserk golems which the destroyed causing devastating damage in the desert. While the last group fought their attackers, Alec and Pantagruel treated their guests to a meal of okonomiyaki. Demiurge curious to know if there was a way to return to their world, was informed by Pantagruel that there was not. Another question was asked by Aqua on why the golems out in the wilderness attacked them, which Pantagruel explains is due to a special ring that was stole by a former inhabitant of the village: Vera Mitrohina. The attacks on the new arrivals was apparently as test for the golems to see their capabilities as Vera intends to bring them to her world to end an ongoing war. But such a concept is horrendous to Alec and Pantagruel as they believe conflicts need to be resolved by people instead of weapons. Shalltear Bloodfallen believing that Vera's plan to return home will be fruitless as their hosts stated that returning was impossible calls her classmates to prioritize locating their missing comrades which the rest of Class 2 agree.

Later back with Vera, Ainz and Kazuma, its revealed that there is indeed a way home when she shows them a journal that she found in Pantagruel's room. When she was discovered by Pantagruel, the military girl accused Pantagruel for lying to her. Pantagruel as it turned out knew that there was a way, however refrained from telling Alec and Vera, thinking that living in Another World was preferable. Vera feeling betrayed then left the village, aiming to using the knowledge in the journal to return home. However several conditions needed to be met according to Vera, who then showed them a journal that explained a way to activate the magic item, stating that it required a "chunibyo" to be inserted in the altar. Unfamiliar with the term, Vera begged Ainz and Kazuma to explain it which they complied much to Ainz's annoyance. Though even with the demonstration, it proves useless in deciphering what they need to activate the magic item. All they can go on is a place where there is an eyepatch that needs to be inserted. Vera seeing the symbol realizes that its exactly like Pantagruel's eyepatch.

Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov reports that her team spotted a disturbance north of the village and believe that it may be their remaining comrades. A retrieval team is them sent to find their comrades and is led by Pantagruel. On the journey Pantagruel breaks down to reveal that she had lied, about there not being a way home. Despite the shock, the retrieval team forgive as they feel there must be a reason as to why Pantagruel lied to them. Vera knowing what she must do, decides to retrieve the last piece needed to open the portal. To assist her, Ainz gives Vera a summon for her to use and permits Chomusuke to go with her.

The team meets with the last group and bring them back to the village. Alec who is absent during the reunion, is revealed to be in the cathedral near the village. Pantagruel heads there and to her surprise find Alec with Vera. Alec tries to warn Pantagruel to run, but Vera captures her. Tanya and Victoriya arrive at the seen, and seeing Vera wear the uniform of the Empire, believe that they are suppose to be allies.

Vera though says otherwise and reveals that she is not a subject of the Empire but an undercover spy of the Unified States. Her parents though were originally from the Empire, but immigrated to the States and Vera was born as a citizen there. However after the Empire declared war on the neighboring nations. Vera and her family were ostracized due to the heritage. Her life of hardship was then blamed at the Empire, and she vowed to destroy it by using the golem army she commands.

Vera then escapes the cathedral using the Death Knight summon given to her. Chomusuke who was riding the undead then retreats back to Megumin's side as the group helpless watch Vera escape. Demiurge having been informed of the situation, surmises that Ainz is where Vera is hiding, and believe Ainz must have a plan, with Megumin insisting that Kazuma is with him, but gets flustered when asked why, and refuses to elaborate beyond that Kazuma sent something only he could send (referring to her panties). Alec pleads with the group to save Pantagruel as he fears that the girl allowed herself to be captured in order to make up for lying to Vera. Alec as it turns out already knew that Pantagruel was lying when there was no way to return to his world. he had long since accepted his life in Another World, as before he came, Pantagruel lived alone for three hundred years and thus did not wish to abandon her. Having already forgiven Pantagruel for her deceit, Alec only wishes for Vera to forgive Pantagruel and stop the madness.

Kazuma and Ainz discover a workshop in the facility and stumble upon the book of the Head Researcher and a spare magic golem controlling ring. From the contents they discover that as a condition to open a portal back to their world, doing so would awaken a terrible golem that had the power to destroy the world. Worried of the consequences, the two hurry to Vera to inform her about this new development. To their surprise, Vera has her golems surround them and reveals to they that she regards them as enemies, having overheard that they were allies of Tanya. Despite Ainz's warning of the golem that will awaken, Vera ignores him, and is more than eager to rouse it from its slumber as she believes it will be a fine addition to her golem army that she will lead to her world. Pantagruel once again tried to plead to Vera to stop her mad plans, is rebuked by Vera for lying to her and proceeds to activate the machine. However since the two aided her, she offers only the two of them a chance to use the device to return to their worlds. The offer is rejected by the two as they refuse to abandon their comrades. In the commotion, Kazuma gets Pantagruel out of harm's way at Ainz's order while he stays to buy them time to escape.

The rest of Class 2 then head to the facility where they find their way barred by an army of menial golems and Siege Golems. Class 2 then proceeds to fight against the golems, working together to wipe as many of the smaller ones. Though the Siege Golems prove resistant to their acts, Subaru then comes up with a plane to dig a massive sinkhole in the desert and has his classmates create a giant door. When the hole is finished, Beatrice uses her Door Crossing ability to dump the Siege Golems one by one into the pit, trapping them whilst Megumin readies her explosion magic.

Naofumi, Alec and Tanya then fly to the facility while their classmates handle the golem. The class nearly have all the golems in the pit, save for the one that first attacked them when the came into Another World. Before it can harm them, Kazuma arrives controlling a Siege Golem he had found in the jungles and directs it to toss the enemy golem into the pit (technically at Aqua) as Megumin destroys the constructs with her magic.

Back at the facility Vera finds her ring to be useless in controlling the unsealed golem which then begins to attack her. Ainz steps in to protect her, casting his magic and sends down a [Meteor Fall] on the golem. The spell proves ineffective as the golem is able to release an anti-magic field from its body. It then proceeds to break out of the fortress, just as Alec, Naofumi and Tanya arrive. Vera is horrified at what her actions have led to and desperately wants to make amends. Alec distraught reveals that the golem while being a way to return home, can only be controlled by Pantagruel as she is a golem herself and needs to make direct contact with the rampaging golem's left eye. However doing so would cause Pantagruel to cease to exist hence why Alec refused to pursue a way to return to his own world.

Pantagruel though accepts this to be the only way to stop the golem, as it is her duty and function left to her. Ainz then sends out an undead summon to coordinate a plan to subdue the golem. But it is destroyed before revealing the entire message, though Demiurge is able to grasp enough to relay Ainz's instructions. The rest of Class 2 then work together to carry Pantagruel and avoid the golem's attacks as Ainz dispels the ant-magic field. Pantagruel is successfully launched at the golem's eye, allowing her to merge with it and take control. The golem soon then rips out its core which transforms into a portal that will soon collapse if not used. Class 2 then hurry through the portal to hopefully return to their original worlds, but Alec and Vera decide to stay in Another World, having come to terms with their peaceful lives. Tanya in a rare moment of emotion forgives Vera for her 'treason' though warns her that they will be enemies if they meet again in the Empire.

After Class 2 vanishes, Alec and Vera are shocked when the portal collapses and spits out Pantagruel who claims that she was saved by a Kazuma last minute via his [Steal] ability.[1]

Layout[]

The world appears to be mostly desert, though there is a river are some mountain ranges, verdant jungles seen in the distance. Several mesas are present with verdant foliage.

Features[]

Another World was originally and untouched and uninhabited world, thus contains few structures of civilization. Relics of habitation are found throughout the land, and while ancient looking, are in fact fairly recently built, about only 300 years of age made by the most recent inhabitants.

Village (Isekai Quartet)

Village: The only current place of habitation in the world. It is located on an isolated mesa with a mountain on top. The settlement contains several wooden houses, guard tower, a well, and a cabbage garden. Beside the three only intelligent inhabitants, a small host of golems live in the village, tending to the village and serving the inhabitants.

Cathedral (Isekai Quartet)

Cathedral: Located near the village on the mesa. It is a brick-made church that contains an pews and a central altar at the back. The altar is complete with the stain-glass window of a cat and feline statues. Presumably this was a building dedicated to Kikotenshin Nekonyan and created by Pantagruel in honor of her creator after his death.

Underground Facility 01

Underground Facility: An subterranean base is actually a tower buried in a mountain of sand. It was built to store Siege Golems and smaller variants. It also housed the strongest golem ever created with the potential in destroying the world, and also creating a gateway to other worlds. However several conditions needed to be made in order to activate it. The upper floor contains a hall with various golems and a core belonging to one of the most powerful golems ever constructed and now lies dormant. The lower floors contains a workshop and was the home of the Head Researcher before he left Another World.

Ruins (Isekai Quartet)

Ruins: Stone ruins of a seemingly ancient city and located north to the jungle and situated by a river.
