Aju (アジュ) is a dark elf village in the Great Forest of Evasha.
Background[]
A village that was located near the Three Trees of the Great Sea of Trees. It was the closest dark elf settlement to the Royal Elven Capital.
Additionally a powerful variant of the Ankyloursus species lived in the village’s vicinity. The monster knew the dark elves existed in the trees, but at the time of their discovery it’s belly was full and it saw not point in exerting itself to climb or knock down the trees to hunt them.
So the village was mostly ignored by the Ankylourus and its existence marked as being known as Ankyloursus Lord who's infamy spread to the other dark elf villages through Aju.
Chronology[]
The Half Elf God-kin Arc[]
- Main article: The Half Elf God-kin Arc
Ainz Ooal Gown coaxed the location of the nearest dark elf village after charming a random forest elf in the Royal Capital. From the elf’s directions he and his party traveled to the general area of where the village was suppose to be located. However they were unable to locate the village so Aura Bella Fiora went ahead with Fenn to scout. While traveling through the forest they entered the territory of the Ankyloursus Lord who tried to intimidate them. However it was captured by Aura who wanted to use it in an experiment.[1]
Later the Ankyloursus Lord was used in Mission: Red Ogre Cried on a neighboring dark elf village. When the monster showed up some of the rangers of the villagers recognized it as the Ursus King that lived near Aju and wondered what had happened to it. Some feared that with the presence of Ankyloursus it meant that monster had devoured the other settlement and sought their village as having acquired a taste for dark elves.[2]
Layout & Features[]
The village was near the territory of the Ankyloursus Lord and like normal elf villages, was based in a cluster of elf trees.
It was about a 100 kilometers from another dark elf village. From the Royal Capital, the village was situated to its south. To get to the village, normally it would take a week. Though a specific set of instructions were needed to reach the village. About 2500 paces needed to be pit between the traveler and the capital. Afterwards they would see a huge boulder, and from there turn in the direction where three trees are standing in a row, advancing around 3000 paces.
Trivia[]
- The village while mentioned by the elf that Ainz interrogated in Chapter 2 is not properly named until Chapter 3.
