I've been thinking about this for the longest time and I'm quite unsure just how strong is AOG's current military strength at the moment (post volume 13).
More importantly, is there any information as to the exact number of NPCs outside of the guardians etc that's already named? I'm talking undead, POPs, summons, the whole shebang.
If anyone knows, it'll be super awesome, but if not, let's discuss anyway ;)
The fact of having a large force wouldn't be a problem. Where he would get the numbers for such a force is. The Sorcerous Kingdom has somewhere close to a million citizens; divided up across multiple races. Now Ainz could arm and deploy every man woman and child, but that would seriously undermine the grand and glorious image he wants the SK to have.
But if you just want numbers fine.
999,500 Untrained human peasant/farmers/smiths/children and all manner of people not suited for combat
500 trained human town guards, adventurers, clerics, mages the strongest being Mithril ranked adventures
18 White Dragons
80-200 Frost Giants(estimate)
800 Untrained Lizardmen
300 Trained Lizardmen
10,000 Orcs and Zorn
and 5,000 Goblins the strongest being level 43
Now the numbers of Nazarick. Note: Many, many, of those mentioned here have the ability to summon and create even more allies; They will get an * near there name.
*11,000 pop undead(6,000 stronger than Mythril Adventures)
*500 (conservative minimum) to 4,000 (Almost impossible maximum) Mid-tier Undead(Each as strong an Adamantine Adventurer or stronger)
Kyouhukou's cockroach army (numbers unknown)
*Shalltear's vampire brides (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
*Shalltear's undead vassals (numbers unknown)(level 80 or so)
Cocytus's Guardian Knights (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
Cocytus's Lord Knights (numbers unknown)(level 70)
Cocytus's 6 Frost Maidens (level 82)
Nigredo's Carrion Babies (number unknown)(level 20)
Aura's Magical Beasts (numbers unknown)(level at most 80)
Mare's 2 dragons (level 80)
Grant's children (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
Gashokukochuuou's children (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
*Demiurge's Evil Lords (at least 3)(level around 80)
That which lurks in the 8th floor (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
Head-Chef's & Sous-Chef's employees (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
Man Servants (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
Chief Blacksmith's apprentices (numbers unknown)(level unknown)
1 Lion Golem (level unknown)
2 High-class Golems (level unknown)
*Undead librarians of Ashurbanipal (At least 10 Elder Liches, unknown number of spirts and 5 level 80 Overlords)
*Summoned Mercenary Monsters (numbers unknown, but enough to bankrupt Nazarick in their summoning)(level 80)
72 Demons of the Lemegeton (numbers 67)(level unkown)
*1 Four-Colored Crystal Lamp (level unknown, but strong enough to wipe two level 100 parties)
And that (I believe) is everyone that is not a named NPC that was handcrafted by members of Ainz Ooal Gown. So everyone Ains considers not vital.
I could do more but I'm tired.
Wow, you went all out and I thank you for it!
Some of the stuff you mentioned I had no idea of their existence (e.g. Cocytus's minions etc.).
But nonetheless, thank you!!!
To add to the fire
"The gold pieces which one obtained in YGGDRASIL could be used to buy magic items, but they could also be used for guild base maintenance fees. For instance, they could be used to summon monsters of above level thirty — which did not naturally respawn, or “pop” — as catalysts for the use of certain spells, in the creation of magic items, resurrecting dead NPCs, and so on." - Vol 4 prologue
"The Old Guard of Nazarick were high level undead sentries which were only found within the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. They wielded weapons with all sorts of magical effects, and they were equipped with enchanted armor and shields. In addition, they possessed many refined combat skills, making them excellent undead sentries." - Vol 4, Chapter 4, Part 1
It indirectly states the Spawns of level 30 and below are free such as Nazarick's Old, Elder, & Master Guarders in intervals of course. so Ainz has an unlimited number of Guarders from spawns.
Mmm, yes, unlimited spawns indeed. I've always wondered what the full might of AOG would look like, and I highly doubt we will ever actually see this come to being as just a few key characters have pretty much been shown to wipe out entire armies of the NW. Just once, I'd love to see the extent of AOG's military might on display. Maybe in the future volumes (if) the various bodies of the NW decide to get together and amass an all out revolt against AOG, then we can see this happen, although again, I doubt it. Sad.
Honestly, I would settle for just getting a chance at seeing the Floor Guardians (and Sebas) cut loose and hold nothing back.
Alas, it seems no such force will ever truly challenge Nazarick's might.(but if the defenses in Eryuentiu still hold strong than maybe...)
I'm eagerly waiting for season 4 so we can get more AOG action. Having overlord withdrawals...
He is a necromancer as long as there is a corpse he can create troops. He can create a death knight out of a corpse which he finds trivial so what's to say that he can't create higher tier undead.
Um...Ainz can only create undead up to level 40 or so. He can push it higher, but than the undead disappears once the time runs out. Death Knights have strong, reliable and easy to manage(looking at you 'Insta-kill Aura') abilities. Add on top it's heavy defense stats, that make it almost unkillable in New World standards, and Death Knights might be the most effective undead he can reliably make.
Indeed we have not observed a limit to how many undead Ainz can create, but that doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. While he could start ordering the Undead he makes to 'go start making more undead', that would still take time and wouldn't be considered an 'at the ready' force. Not to mention that humans offer a more differs workforce.(BTW, anyone else worried that Ainz's undead labor may become a new form of industrialization via an automated workforce?)
His numbers is not without limits; but it is insanely huge, overkill against anything the surrounding nations have, and shows potential for some serious rapid growth. In short, time to invest in the SK.
I'm assuming "looking at you 'Insta-kill Aura' " means me or am I wrong?
"The most powerful undead he could make with the corpses of the Sunlight Scripture were level forty. Beyond that, the undead would vanish with the passage of time, along with the corpses that served as their medium." - Vol 3, Chapter 5, Part 4.
"An Overlord like Momonga had the following skills: Create High Tier Undead four times per day, Create Mid Tier Undead twelve times per day, Create Low Tier Undead twenty times per day..." - Vol 1, Chapter 2, Part1
Ainz's himself has a daily limit while Nazarick can spawn free lv 30 and lower undead in intervals. So in a sense if Ainz wanted to his military power would grow every day, but that would cause space issues.
@Hokehokehoke, I'd be surprised if Ainz's undead wouldn't cause a Industrial Revolution in farming, mining, security, transportation, construction (with guides).
