I was thinking is there a chance that there would be a living WORLD item similar to the biological imperial arm "Speed of Lightning, Susanoo" from the anime "Akame ga kill"?
If so, how would it be? If not, why not?
IDK what 'Akame ga kill' is but the idea of a living world item is interesting and terrifying. We do know that in the New World sentient items do exist(IE Jewel of Death) and we also know that their are living creatures that that can be used as items (Lip bug and Entoma's entire arsenal), so its not too crazy an idea. The thought of a sentient suit of armor that thinks its human or a book with a mouth that tells you information instead of reading it, but only knows information found in other books it has ate, is rather cool.
The biggest problem to this is the simple fact that, as far as we know, all World Items are native to Yggdrasil and there were no sentient items in Yggdrasil. All the items in Yggdrasil were made under the premise of working in the game, so its unlikely they made an item with its own AI(Ainz's staff with its 'Auto-attack' feature might have a rudimentary one, but is unlikely). The closest to it would be an item of having a flavor text that says the item is alive. None of the items in Nazarick by the way have displayed signs of sentience, so its unlikely that most ordinary items flavor text have come to life. It's not impossible though; because the NPC's of Nazarick have come to life, flavor text could have the power to change how things behave now; or none of the items in Nazarick had sentience established in them. But World Items are the exception to everything; so they could have enough power to support sentience and if so...they scare me.
We have to remember what World Items are ,flavor and Lore wise. Each one is the last remnants of a different world that was destroyed and devoured by an apocalyptic monster. If one of them was sentient than it wouldn't just be a very powerful trinket; it would be the last survivor of a completely alien world or a physical embodiment of everything that existed there; complete with an endless supply of memories of the last moments of it's world.
If a World Item were sentient, it would not be like what you might think it is.
That is indeed saddening, but I think the sentient WORLD item would mature and understand over time and accept it's tragedies. The WORLD item would only be sentient in lore/flavor text separate from its abilities and physical shape. It would be preferable if the item would be concious/awake when its being used or held (not put away). If such a WORLD item existed how would it be? What would it's ability be? I have an idea:
All IN ONE - initially it would be a cube of autumn design
Features: In game you can design the item yourself to be any initial weapon. In the NW it would take the the 1st thought the new holder had in his/her mind.
Abilities: Class (racial and job) change with no restrictions nor penalties. For example, Ainz is a lv 15 skeleton mage, lv 10 elder lich, lv 5 overlord then can change to lv 15v dragon mage, lv 10 elder dragon, lv 5 ancient dragon, but it would change Ainz physical appearance. Basically it's like you getting to choose what your character can be maxed without having to start over.
I add this because it is sentient it would make sense that it has knowledge of all classes.
What do you think?
