Overtime what will happen to the concept of Momon?
For example, would his character later die with the birth of a peacefull kingdom or be a living legand with the implied magic of his majesty. Will he join the explorations?
Where will Momons story go?
That would make the most sense after conquering. What about after the kingdom settles/the citizens are comfortable with the undead king? (Prior to world conquered)
Originally Momon was a tool; created to allow Ainz to explore new lands under cover and flake out of work in Nazarick at the same time. Now he is part of the great con that the people of E-Rantel are safe so long as he is there to protect them from Ainz Ooal Gown. Yet the longer Ainz Ooal Gown is in the city, the people begin to realize that Ainz isn't a monster and they don't need the Hero Momon to protect them from him.
The goal of having Ainz take over and surpass Momon's great deeds has already happened; via rescuing the Roble Kingdom and slaying Jaldaboath in his true form. This plus the kind and strong economic climate he is forming will begin to turn the people's trust to Ainz. Soon people will talk of Ainz's greatness more than Momon's, which might be a problem. Momon's most devote supporters will not accept Ainz's new found fame easily. In their eyes Momon and Ainz are opposed forces, and to speak well of Ainz is to speak ill of Momon. This could lead to an altercation within the streets of the SK between supporters of the two sides.
To handle this and put the nail in the Momon plan, Ainz must do one more kind deed. Not just normally kind, but incredible kind. So kind that the Momon supporters would be willing to entertain the idea that Ainz is a good guy. At this point Momon must publicly reconfirm his loyalty to Ainz; not just as a means to peace, but as an honest to goodness "I believe in you. Now and until the end of time," kind of way. The Momon supporters, now open to Ainz's greatness, seeing Momon won over and praise Ainz's greatness; will begin to praise Ainz as well.
Inside the SK the bells will ring, the sun will shine, and the people will cheer. For now they know that they are not ruled by a tyrant. They are not slaves to an Undead who does not care for them. They are not doomed to suffer until the end of time. They are lead by a being of compassion, wisdom, and strength that will lead them into brightest age that they have ever seen. This they know, because Momon has told them.
Outside the SK the sky will be dark and the streets will be quiet and empty. The people will be afraid and confused about what this new proclamation will mean. They will doubt who is good and who is evil. They will wonder if the side they are on is they side they want to be on. They will doubt their leaders and will demand answers. Those above, who sit in luxury and pretend to rule the world, they will cry and curse. For they know; that their Hero, their one hope, has fallen to the vile trickery and cunning of Ainz Ooal Gown and they are next.
They will have to retire Momon's character at some point. The real question is will it be their choice to and if so how will they.
If the secret of Momon's character where to be revealed by outside forces, it would most likely be brandished as a weapon against Ainz. Either by being used in a massive smear campaign or luring Ainz into a trap while he is Momon. The reveal would crush the spirits of everyone who looked up to Momon and morale in the SK would plummet. While a civilian uprising would put Ainz massively far back in his plans, it poses no direct threat to his life. It will however make ruin Ainz's name and make it easier for his enemies to gain support(money, people, magic items) against him.
If Ainz chooses to slip the information it will be for one of two reasons. The first is to crush someone or some people's morale. Someone looking to stand against Ainz would naturally seek out Momon's aid, all the more easier for Ainz to trap them. If during the confrontation he needs to for some reason crush their hopes and dreams, he can tell them the truth.
The second reason Ainz would come clean about Momon, is if he wants to win someone to his cause. By telling them, and putting extra emphasize on the good he has done, he hopes to convince them that Momon's good desires for there people were Ainz's good desires all along. It would be a hard sell, sense at this point it is less about whether Ainz is good or not and more about gaining power by overthrowing the biggest dog on the block, but it might work.
Die a Hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a Villain. They can not keep Momon around forever, and he is not going to retire and start a farm and family. They need to kill him off before the secret comes out. I personally thought they were going to have him die a Hero's Death defeating Jaldaboath, but they killed off Jaldaboath first. Death by illness or accident will arouse suspicion on Ainz. Without Jaldaboath, they will need a new villain to slay the hero. But who could match up to prove a threat to Momon? Only Godkin or Dragon Lords would do the trick, unless Ainz wants another Floor Guardian. Perhaps one who has already been seen, and might have a reason for taking revenge for Jaldaboath demise. Shaltear's blond twin maybe.
Well said Hokehokehoke. Which action in addition do you think Ainz needs to do to gain his citizen acceptance of Momon's public fealty to ainz. Would one of the conditions be Ainz and Momon are working together visually? And/or a falsified resurrection (fake death in battle with shalltears twin) since the people see aniz as an enemy and believe ainz and Momon are a giant each other they would think "why would the king resurrect an enemy?" However, this has flaws since they can think oh just for fun and torment or think that ainz truly cares for his subjects.
Perhaps if Ainz and Mormon (Pandora's actor) join forces against a particularly dangerous foe and momon tragically is killed as Ainz holds his body and listens to his "last wish" to protect the people from this threat. And Ainz does so and Honours momons sacrifice and makes a statue.
Gabrieldlouw that is a very good idea. Ainz would have to give a speech/announcement to his citizens about Moman and his last words; however, that's leaves a few problems. Specifically the hater's & skeptic's that will doubt Ainz words since in their eyes Momon put Ainz in check and Ainz will lose a valuable pawn since people outside the SK would trust Momon more than Ainz and prove others that Ainz can't protect everyone of his kingdom, but this does give leway for Ainz to show his false mad self in passion of a fallen comrade and go to war with the cause/fake cause to prove that he is passionate for his people &/or fear which he can also do if he revive's Momon.
There are more benefits if he revive's him. Momon can tell his visitor's what happened in the battle field and how Ainz revived and saved him. In other words the citizens will see the Hero''s hero, Ainz.
Hmmm remember how ains said in carne village about a wizard who kills and a wizard who revives. He doesn't want to be seen as someone who has full control over life and death as this could create even more enemies than allies.
He would probably use a demon summoning tool or similar to create a large number of lesser enemies for basic human soldiers in his kingdom to fight alongside Ains and Momon. These soldiers would witness Momon and Ains' last moments together and thus show the rest of the kingdom the glory of AOG. Nobody is more reliable than knights.
