Rubedo was stated to be stronger than touch me whos one of the strongest players in Yggdrasil so was she stronger than all players/npcs?
touch me is the fifth strongest world champion that we know of and he can take on 3 top tier players
then the winners of the world champion tournament are all the same strength we know this because the champion that came first beat the one that came second who beat the one that came third who beat the one that came first (in the rematch), we can assume they are a tier above touch me and can take on 4 top tier players at once
but rubedo is able to take on nazarick's strongest team, only loosing if they all use world class items so we can assume shes able to take on 7 top tier players at once or 3 WCI users so she would be stronger than the strongest player
(but we dont know how powerful the strongest world disaster is)
if you want to count the web novel then the corrupted world champion should be about 4x stronger than she is
in terms of npcs
gargantua outclasses her in terms of raw power but he cant fight so that doesnt count,
Eclair Ecleir Eicler, is the almighty overlord, so its not really fair to count him either
and finally its possible that asura as well as the other raid bosses of nazarick are on the 8th floor (but ist not confirmed) if they are then they would be slightly below her seeing as how they were taken down by 5 players
other than that she's most likely the most powerful npc ever created
She is powerful enough to make 1500 players give up on taking Nazirick, while she is on the 8th floor. 1500 infinitely respawning players, decided that there is no way they can get past her. At least that's how I like to think about it.
No she’s not that overpowered
It wasn’t 1500 ‘players’, the raid mostly consisted of not that high level npc’s, ranging from like the 70-maybe the 90’s? Who knows, but it was mostly consisted of npc’s
A second point was that they can’t “infinitely” respawn, especially since it’s a real ‘raid’ against another guild, which i’m not entirely sure, but I’d say that they can’t just respawn and jump straight back in, as I think they would respawn in their guild or in a town/city in the game and would have to just wait for the others that haven’t died in the raid party to finish. Another thing about it is that even if they could respawn, players would lose a few levels for it, unless they used some cash items like the wand of resurrection which is unlikely, and npc’s require gold to respawn, so they prob couldn’t go back to the raid, you die you basically exit and get booted out.
As for Rubedo fighting the 1500 raid party that got to floor 8, she didn’t exactly do it herself per say, yes she did play a huge part in the wiping them out part, but do remember that floor 8 of Nazarick, is the most ‘mysterious’ as well as most ‘powerful’ floor, perhaps even more so than a couple of Nazarick’s floor’s combined. Victim’s only level 40, because he(/she) is a sacrificial fetus, able to inflict a large scale immobilization as stated in volume 4 and 5, combine that with all the booby traps that are probably abundant asf in floor 8, Omega being able to for the party to separate and teleport to different places probably, and then Rubedo to basically massacre the rest, that’s how I see the raid party getting wiped.
Rubedo is really op yes, especially so for an npc, she was designed after all to be the most powerful entity of Nazarick ‘s defenses in order to be the last and most powerful trump card of Nazarick, hence Ainz’s unwilliness at the beginning for Albedo’s proposal for her to be part of the supreme being locator team :p, but perhaps not as op as being able to fight against so many opponents xD.
She is still able to whack and clap Ainz and Shalltear’s ass tho :)
Fight meh >:)
My comment (half hearted as it was) was trying to go for a different point. Nazarck had an army at its gates, an army that when defeated could regroup and try again. The lose of levels and their most valuable magic items would be tragic, but they could still try again. Add in a Sunk Cost Fallacy and the only way Nazirick could win is if they convinced most of the army that victory is impossible. And they did, they convinced them that there is no way past the 8th floor. I'd love to do a full detailing of my thoughts on Nazarick's defenses, but I'm off topic. Back to Rubedo.
Rubedo's abilities (to my knowledge) hasn't been verified. Whether she is a warrior, magic caster, or is more like Gargantua and doesn't use job levels at all is unknown. The best ways I find to describe her power is by how people treat her.
Nigredo is worried that she would bring calamity to Ainz Ooal Gown. How I don't know, but she can still be considered dangerous even to those who use her.
Ainz is hesitant to move her from her position; cause he is confidant that, even in his absence, Nazarick will not fall while she is there.
Albedo is the big one though. Albedo is confidant enough to face of against any member of Ainz Ooal Gown, so long as she has Rubedo. Note: these are the people she calls Supreme Beings, the highest power their is, and she feels that she can win if she has her sister.
Is Rubedo that strong outside of the 8th floor? I don't know.
Is she level 100? I don't think so, but also don't know.
Can she really take on the guild Ainz Ooal Gown and win? Albedo thinks so, but that's just a different method of thinking about it.
when the invaders were killed they cant just come back in and try again im sure there was some kind of restriction in place so that if they die they have to wait a few days before retrying or something
we do have info on rubedo we know shes a warrior and im pretty sure at some point maruyama said she was a monk like sebas but dont quote me on that
i dont know why people are saying albedo is going to try to fight the 41 with rubedo ive read all the volumes and ive never seen that stated, i'd assume you're talking about the time she assembled a squad to "search" for the supreme beings but that cant be it cus everyone in that squad would kill her if she were to attack them (except maybe rubedo if she's a remote controlled golem like gargantua instead of voice controlled like normal golems)
but then that brings me to a question can albedo even attack the 41 im pretty sure she literally incapable of doing it for example if ainz were to make one of Enri's summoned goblins love him and hate enri (by using mind control) and then he ordered the goblin to kill enri the goblin would not be able to do it cus no matter how much it hates enri or loves ainz, enri is still its summoner and it shouldn't be capable of attacking her
the same should be true for albedo, if ainz were to order her to fuck up tabula no matter how much she hates him she shouldnt be able to do it cus they're still restrictions on npcs for example in Pleiades day solution wasnt able to destroy a lamp when ainz ordered her to because npcs cant cause damage that uses nazarick's gold no matter the reason she was only able to do it because ainz told her it would be repaired for free so theres definitely still things created npcs cant do and i'd assume killing a guild member is one of them.
if anything albedo probably made that squad and asked to be allowed to look at all information regarding the search so that she can tell ainz lies if one of the 41 are really found cus she only said she would make ainz the sole ruler of nazarick she never said she would do it by killing the other 40
When you die in Yggdrasil, you lose 5 levels and your most valuable magic item. They level lose would be substantial, after all Ainz himself would lose TGOALID if he were to die, but from the what we've heard is something players purposely do to themselves. The real kicker is the magic item lose.
For this reason many of the players only carried their strongest gear when they need to. No doubt that many of the invaders would bring their top gear to this fight, what with Nazarick's reputation of killing everyone by floor 6. Considering that about a quarter of the invaders where max level, then we can safely assume that many of them would have at least one Divine magic item. Divine magic items are quite rare, even Ainz only has (in his personal collection) enough for one in each of his equipment slots. Shaltear's, who is considered to be a sudo-raid-boss, Lance is her only Divine magic item. Given that the invaders were a coalition of guilds against Ainz Ooal Gown, their might (maybe (possibly (But is doubt it))) could have been Guild weapons and/or World items lost during the raid.
I wonder if they just remained where the defeated player lied or were just transported instantly to Nazarick's treasury. If the latter, I wonder if we could see a Trojan Horse come into play.
As for the lost of levels and items, i’d agree with Onida that there must’ve been a restriction in a raid that they aren’t allowed to rejoin or have to wait a few days, since even a maxed out level 100 with a few divine gear would still get tired out, run out of mana, etc against countless opponents that could possibly come in non stop.
Then there’s the items dropped when a player dies, the gear is probably left on the ground or something? Or at least until, one the dungeon is cleared, or two, the raid ends in a failure, in which those gears probably all goes to the dungeon that won, in which the guild would be able to gain equipments. Also I’m not sure but I think there was something like that in Yggdrasil where your guild dungeon winning against a raid would allow you to take the dropped items as a sort of reward? Question mark? Not sure lel
And Rubedo as confirmed to be some sort of monk like melee fighter like Sebas, and as for not wanting to move Rubedo, it could be because Ainz was still hesistant as to whether or not EVERY npc of Nazarick is loyal to him, especially in the case of Rubedo since she is the “strongest” npc in Nazarick that can only be beaten by the npc’s of floor 8 and also with the use of WI as according to Ainz, so him being who he is, wanting to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect and that he’s sure that he has enough info and certain enough that he can accomplish what he wants to do, and keep in mind for Ainz, his first priority to to ensure the safety of Nazarick at all costs, so if Rubedo happens to become mind controlled like shalltear or something, or that she isn’t loyal to Nazarick(highly doubt it), then the well being of Nazarick could be endangered.
I also don’t think that a quarter of the raid was level 100’s, like 375 level 100’s...... I highly doubt that, and not without reasons too. This certain raid was during the decline of Yggdrasil, and most of the “high” tier/ranking players had mostly quit, excluding some exceptions. And this was also the time when most of Ainz’s friends could barely even come on to say hi anymore cause of real life circumstances, so there probably wouldn’t be more than 200 level 100’s in the raid, needless to say all of them being equipped with divine tier items. Divine tier items are extremely hard to craft/obtain, with Ainz as an example, he doesn’t have enough even in his personal collection to be fully decked out in divine items, he’s only able to be fully decked out because of the legacy his friends had left behind, aka the divine items and other things that they deposited into the guild treasury before they left the game(basically quitting and not really playing much anymore), and each of the 41 only had on average 1 divine item, with the exception of the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown since it’s technically not on the level of divine tier usefulness :p, and players in Ainz Ooal Gown like warrior takemikazuchi only had his divine tier katana, Peroroncino only had his Houyi Bow, Ainz also only had one divine tier item if I remember correctly, was it his robe? I’m not sure, but basically all the floor guardians as well only had 1 divine tier item, and they’re the ones responsible for the safety of Nazarick, so divine items are really hard to get, such that even a small guild like Ainz Ooal Gown does have anyone that could even get close to decking him/herself out with divine tier items, so I doubt there would be more than 100 of the raiders that would possess a divine item, the raid was consisted of mostly npc anyways so there wouldn’t have been that much players. Also if a lot of the players in the raid had divine tier items, then they would’ve most likely dropped when they got killed/wiped by Rubedo, and Ainz Ooal Gown would then have to have gained a lot more divine item, so I’m not sure if there was that much players equipped with divine items :/
What do you think?
