i only watched the anime and some of you probably read the source material, so i want to know if Ainz is alone with the NPCs and inhabitants of the new world. honestly the thought of it being like that would be a little depressing.
Yes, as far as we know.. There have been other players around but they did turn up in a different centuries. Like how the 6GG was 600 years ago, the 8 GK was 500 years ago etc etc. These things are called "The Advent of the Gods" by the Theocracy.
As far as we know as I said.. Ainz turned up alone with his Guildbase and the guild NPC´s and pop troops. But I guess you have already seen that the NPC´s have taken over the characters of their creators so in a way nothing have changed.

So far, he is the only player in the New World. BUT.
There are solid evidences that other players arrived in the NW, but hundreds of years before.
The most notable cases are:
- The 6 players that saved humanity 600 ya and are now revered as the 6 great gods of the Slaine Theocracy;
- The 8 Greed Kings that conquered the world 500 ya, killed the last of the 6GG and fought / killed themselves;
- The Boastful Sage, a minotaur warrior that ruled a nation of minotaurs 200 ya, elevated the humanoid races from foodstock to slaves, introduced chirugy as a treatment for diseases and proposed the creation of many magical itens to help daily life, like refrigerators, but been a warrior, he didn't crafted a single one.
But since this guys had a short lifespan, they are probably gone. In the book 11, in a briefe intermission, the king of the elves is shown, and is said to have incredible power, but spend his days being a tyrant, killing his subjects on a whim, drinking wine and impregnating elven girls. In my opinion, he is most probably a player.
